Nacida en St. Andrews, Escocia, en 1965, O'Donnell estudió pintura y dibujo en el Colegio de Arte de Edimburgo, vivió y trabajó en la capital hasta mudarse a Barcelona para completar un Master en Bellas Artes Europeas Contemporáneas; expuso por primera vez en solitario en 1989. Después de 16 años como directora de la Galería del Norte de Noruega (Galleri NordNorge) Roanne tiene experiencia en dirigir, diseñar y ejecutar exposiciones, trabajando con artistas individuales, galerías de arte y museos regionales y nacionales. Ahora reside en la Serranía de Ronda, Andalucía (España).
